Arashi is a beautiful, pristine desert at the North end of the island of Aruba.

The limiting factor for life is water, and the dessicating factor is the wind.

Only where a relief provides a barrier from the wind does life start to emerge.

The village can be shaped like dunes, the form that causes the least turbulence.

With the appearance of a traditional village.

This configuration provides sheltered spaces.

Where vegetation can grow with little water,

which can be recycled and used to refresh the air,

and also make for a more appealing micro-climate.

A futuristic concept with a very traditional aspect.

In the back there are shops and secondary housing,

whilst at front there is a garden to cool the air.
