The experiment comes on a cart with 2 trays, 4 bags and a pail.

The frame for the gantry is in one tray. The water pressure system and splash guard come in the other.

The gantry which is assembled first, comes in 2 long sections with a bottom, a middle and a top.

First, the base is placed flat on the assembly table with the straps draped off to the sides.

Then the top frame with the pulley is located and the long vertical elements set down close by.

The upper section, which is narrower than the other, is connected into the underside of the top frame.

The middle section is made ready by skewing it back to its initial rectanglar shape with just a pull.

The top part can then be affixed onto the upper side of the middle section.

The lower section is then inserted into the connectors on the underside of the middle section.

The entire assembly can now be fitted into the upwards facing sockets on the base.

The carrying container which now becomes the water containment tray is placed between the uprights.

The guy wires, with their wooden tensors, are looped onto the eyehooks at the corners of the frames.

The tensors are made so that as they run along the guy wires they lock them taught automatically.

Now the pump and hoses can be assembled and linked to the power supply.

The pump is connected, the tray strapped in, and a plexiglass back plate set in place.

The back plate comes affixed to a vertical tube frame that is now fitted into its horizontal base.

The spray nozzle is connected to the pump by a plastic hose and hung from wire davits.

The spool is checked for clean coiling and the mounting screws are located.

The spooler assembly is firmly bolted onto the plexiglass backplate.

The clear plastic splash guard is now laid flat, ready for assembly.

Like the midsection of the gantry, it is simply unskewed, and the top is locked into position.

The water turbine testing apparatus is now ready to roll. Whiteboard, marker, stopwatch, go.
