My friend Annie was in a bit of a bind.

Demolition would have been a shame.

The solution lies in the staggerstep stairs.

If you put a dining-room/kitchen on the 1st floor,

a bathroom and linen closet on the 2nd floor,

and a simple bedroom on the third floor,

You could fit a home in a 3 story building.

The ‘Mairie’ actually granted the permit.

The result is a nice place in a tight space.

And the building is still standing.
